NICOLE Kidman always makes an entrance but even Confidential was surprised by the Aussie actor’s entourage at the weekend.
The 51-year-old was the big star guest at America’s Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, where two of her films had world premieres.

And instead of the usual posse of publicists and minders, the Oscar-winner travelled to the festival with country music singer hubby Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
But it is the fact Kidman brought her two cats that piqued Confidential’s interest.
“With husband Keith Urban, their kids, and even their two cats Queen Snow and Ginger along for the trip to the Rockies, she came to play — both personally with the family, and professionally on the massively impressive screens set up each year in skating rinks and high school auditoriums,” Deadline film scribe Pete Hammond noted.
Kidman’s two films, Destroyer and Boy Erased, have been widely acclaimed by critics and there’s already nomination talk ahead of the Hollywood awards season.
In Destroyer, Kidman is almost unrecognisable playing a broken police detective who suffers a downward spiral after an undercover operation goes wrong.
Being the antiheroine, Kidman admits she didn’t enjoy playing the “uncomfortable” character and didn’t speak to anybody during the shoot.
“I got taught early on when you really get into a character you are not running for popularity on a film set,” she said at the festival. “You’re there to do the work, and so a lot of times, like with this character, you are just going to have to exist in that place.”
Kidman plays opposite Russell Crowe in Boy Erased, as a deeply religious couple struggling to deal with their son’s homosexuality. Kidman was hand-picked for the role by Joel Edgerton, who is also the writer and director.
Kidman’s character is the glue that keeps the family together, claiming to draw from personal experience for the role.
Sharing a rare insight into her life growing up, she explained: “I’ve had my own mother, not with this subject, but in terms of just sitting at a kitchen table beating her fists on the table going ‘This family will stay together’.”
