Cutting got down on one knee midway through a picnic and proposed to his girlfriend of four years at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast.

“Of course I said yes,” Holland told Confidential. “I was silent for a bit, shocked and stunned, but I am incredibly happy.”

The engagement came as a complete surprise to Holland, who even last week told Confidential she didn’t expect a proposal “any time soon”.

The pair met through friends and have mostly had a long distance relationship with Cutting playing cricket tournaments all over the world for seven months of the year, including for Brisbane Heat and the Mumbai Indians.

Holland is based in Sydney but regularly flies to Brisbane, where the couple have a house with their rescue pup Sicari.

Erin says the proposal stunned her.

“We spend a lot of time on planes but we make it work,” said Holland, showing off her large Affinity Diamond sparkler.

“We decided a long time ago that we would do whatever it takes to make our relationship work.”
