Gary Clementson and Georgia Scott land first big gig on Home And Away
A husband and wife acting duo believe they hit the jackpot when they landed a gig on a popular soap. And a fellow actor revealed the trying conditions they had to face when shooting in a tiny South Australian town.
Husband and wife acting duo Gary Clementson and Georgia Scott believe they hit the jackpot when they landed a gig on Home And Away together.
The couple appear in a guest role as Tanya and Paul on the TV soap this week and are hoping the job turns into something more permanent.
“We would love to continue these characters,” Clementson said, his wife adding: “I was a little worried because I had heard that the best chemistry between a couple on screen happens when they hate each others guts so I was worried we’d flop but we worked really well together.”

Married actors reveal what it’s like working together on set
Clementson is a National Institute of Dramatic Art graduate while Scott studied at The Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
They were married in September and shot their scenes on location in South Australia in December.
“To be able to do this together was just an absolute pleasure,” Clementson said. “It was a lot of work but it was like a week’s holiday like a second honeymoon for us.”
TRYING CONDITIONS FOR SOAPIE HUNK
Shooting on location in the remote Flinders Ranges came with plenty of challenges for Home And Away actor Tim Franklin.
Stars of the hit TV soap headed to the outback a few months ago for scenes that are airing this week shot in South Australia’s stunning township of Parachilna.
“It was like filming on Mars, as far as you can see the place it was a desert where we were staying. But the food was epic. We ate feral meat like emu steaks and kangaroo and everything was caught there,” Franklin told Confidential.
“Flies were just an absolute onslaught because you can’t actually stop filming for flies. Usually in Summer Bay we would cut the scene and that would be it, but in Parachilna you had to keep going even if you were being attacked.”
Among the other actors shooting on location were Patrick O’Connor, Sophie Dillman and Courtney Miller.
Franklin plays heart-throb cop Colby in Summer Bay and told Confidential temperatures soared to 47 degrees while shooting the episodes.
“The experience was positive more than anything and those ranges … like one day you are shooting in the middle of the desert and then the next day in an enchanted area and then the day after that you’re by the forest in a dynamic environment,” he said.
“It was just absolutely rugged beauty and the cameras they used were incredible and shot in a different way … it looked so good.”
Series Producer Lucy Addario said the storyline between Ziggy (Dillman) and Dean (O’Connor) led them to “literally drive away” from the dramas of Summer Bay.
“The dramatic Flinders Rangers provided a dynamic landscape of desert and incredible gorges which was the perfect backdrop for this love story to unfold where no one knows them and anything is possible.”
