Merivale boss Justin Hemmes has followed up his lavish Christmas with a playful, tennis-themed New Year’s Eve party at his Narooma property.
Hemmes and his long-time partner Madeline Holtznagel celebrated December 25th in style at his South Coast property, complete with a giant 5m-tall Christmas tree that took six men to assemble.
The couple then jetted back to Sydney and spent Boxing Day at The Hermitage, his heritage-listed waterfront mansion at Vaucluse.
But to ring in 2024, the couple flew about 30 people to Narooma for a long lunch, a spot of tennis and a personal fireworks display.
Hemmes and Holtznagel hosted a long champagne lunch at the Merivale owned Quarterdeck Narooma for socialites including artist Dina Broadhurst and Bodies by Berner founder Bernadette Fahey.
The group were dressed in tennis whites, complete with matching visors that had been made for the occasion, saying “Narooma Tennis Club”.
To finish off the day, there was an 80s tennis club themed party back at Hemmes’ property, followed by a fireworks display.
After making a successful move into Victoria with the launch of Totti’s in Lorne, 2024 is set to be another big year for the hospitality giant.
Merivale has announced the opening of a new Mike Eggert restaurant, Good Luck Restaurant Lounge, in the CBD in the first quarter of the year.
Eggert, who started Totti’s in Bondi in 2018, described the new Italian/Japanese restaurant as “great food with a side of party”.
Jimmy’s Falafel will also open their second venue in Paddington. While the group also has plans to open up another bar in their Ivy precinct.
