Channel 10’s “highest-paid” star Lisa Wilkinson raised eyebrows on Monday after she was noticeably absent from a 2022 network promo.

The Project co-host had industry circles buzzing as fans were left wondering “where’s Lisa?” when she did not appear in the two-minute long clip.

Wilkinson’s colleagues Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar all appear in the video and entertainment commentator Peter Ford told Confidential that her absence is not a good sign.

“It can’t be an oversight, must be a calculated decision,” he said.

“It may be more about spooking her rather than confirmation of any intended plans. But they would absolutely have known it would be noticed and raise speculation. Bottom line is it’s a never a good sign of your longevity in a workplace when you’re very publicly snubbed.”

A Channel 10 insider said the video is a condensed version of a much longer promo set to air later this week and that Wilkinson will feature in other promos for The Project in coming weeks.

Fans were left wondering “where’s Lisa?” as only Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly, Peter Helliar and Rachel Corbett appeared in the network promo.

The TV host signed a lucrative multi-year deal with the network last year.

She recently took time off but will return to The Project on December 5 and is working across Christmas and the new year period.

Ratings for The Sunday Project have improved in Wilkinson’s absence with 321,000 metro viewers tuning in to watch Hamish Macdonald, Rachel Corbett, Rove McManus, and Jan Fran last week.

The Sunday prior, 381,000 viewers watched during the same timeslot compared to 312,000 under Wilkinson on November 7 before she went on break.

Channel 10 previously denied there would be any panel changes in the coming year.

Wilkinson, 61, continues to make headlines following the release of her new book It Wasn’t Meant to Be Like This.

In 2017, she quit the Today show over a pay dispute after 10 years and moved to The Project the following year.

Her departure stemmed from her male co-host, Karl Stefanovic, reportedly earning $2 million – double her $1.1 million salary and Channel 9 allegedly refusing to grant her equal pay.
