Q What’s your favourite memory of growing up in Sydney?

I grew up in Greystanes so lots of my memories were from Central Gardens — a parkland that had kangaroos and bike tracks. We went there often as kids. We were a very sporty family, so I have lots of great memories of the family getting together for games of soccer and things like that.

Q What do you like to show off to friends or family who come to visit Sydney?

Australia is known for its beaches, and Sydney has some beautiful ones to choose from. When people are in town I’ll always plan to have a day on the beach with them.

Usually on the northern beaches — like Newport — and you’ll often find me at Balmoral on a sunny day.

Q What is your favourite family-friendly thing to do in Sydney?

I don’t think you can beat Luna Park for a fun day with family and friends, particularly if they have kids. It’s so much fun when you can be silly! It’s also in a beautiful location — you can’t beat Sydney Harbour.

Q What’s your favourite season in Sydney?

My favourite season in Sydney is summer! It’s always buzzing and hot but not too humid; and on those days I love to head to the beach.

Q What’s your pet peeve about Sydney?

Traffic! After living in the south of France for a year, coming back to peak hour in Sydney drove me crazy! It’s everywhere and it is relentless!

Q What footy team do you follow?

I’ve always loved the Western Sydney Wanderers. Quade (her rugby union boyfriend Quade Cooper) is about to play for the Melbourne Rebels so it will be them!

Q In the age-old war with Melbourne, what does Sydney have that’s undeniably better than our southern neighbour?

We definitely have better weather than Melbourne! I like the heat and the fact that you don’t get four seasons in one day in Sydney!

I lived in Melbourne when I was filming a TV show and I’d leave the house in a dress and come home freezing because they’d had a cold snap! Melbourne is not easy to pack for as you need a winter and summer wardrobe! Ha!

Q Do you have a favourite Sydney restaurant?

I can’t name just one! Chiswick in Woollahra is fantastic for a great family meal. Apollo in Potts Point has the best saganaki you’ve ever had and has great share dishes too. I also love Kepos Street Kitchen in Redfern — they serve modern Israeli food and it’s just amazing and totally unique.

Q Where is your favourite spot for “me time” in Sydney?

Balmoral Beach. I love to train outside, so I’ll head there and do soft sand running and an ocean swim. It’s such a beautiful part of Sydney. I also love to eat at the Balmoral Boathouse. Also, if you’re lucky you’ll get to see a special guest as there’s a local seal that occasionally likes to swim up and say hello!
