KYLIE Minogue says she’s now more likely to become a stepmother than have her own children.
With her 50th birthday just a few weeks away, the unlucky in love pop singer concedes she considered having children on her own.
“I did pursue that,” Minogue tells the May issue of Vogue Australia.
“That didn’t ... that obviously wasn’t the path for me, either. But, I think now ... I love being an aunty. And I mean, if I was to meet anyone — that sounds really gloomy — but if there’s one person on the planet Earth who might like me and I might like them, (then) the chances are pretty high that that person would have children anyway. So I think it’s more (likely) in that vein, than having children of my own.”
From the late Michael Hutchence to model Andres Velencoso, Minogue has long been unlucky in love.
She most recently struggled through a messy breakup with actor Joshua Sasse, revealing she suffered a “slow, steady nervous breakdown”.

“Last year was a little stressful,” she told the magazine, in stores on April 30.
“I think we all know that things were not going great in my relationship, but, you know, when you’re kind of deluded and you’re thinking maybe, maybe ... maybe this needs saving. Turns out, it didn’t. But your family, they can see through all of that, and they probably just want to shake you and go: ‘Can’t you see what’s happening, and what’s happening to you?’ ”
Career-wise, Minogue is cheering. Her new album, her 14th studio offering — Golden — topped the charts here and in the UK although she was forced to cancel her Australian promo trip due to illness.
