OPINION
It is time to stop talking publicly Cass.
Cassandra Thorburn’s latest rant against ex-husband Karl Stefanovic only really impacts three people — their children, River, 12, Ava, 13, and Jackson, 19.
To come out the day after the wedding labelling her ex “fake” and narcissistic is ugly to say the least.
While the dialogue is true that 44-year-old Stefanovic is with a younger woman, she is 34, not 18. Ten years when you’re in your 30s and 40s is no big deal.
I’m a single guy with no kids. So I understand I may cop backlash for writing this but it is my true opinion.

But I grew up in a single parent household and, while my biological father I have since found out, wasn’t a stellar man, my late mother never spoke ill of him.
Not because she wasn’t hurt but for the sake of my sister and I.
To be fair, silence is Cass’ best weapon and a far more dignified option.
Instead she opted to tell New Idea: “Everything he says is about this fake person who lives in this fake castle, it’s not real. I’ve done a lot of reading about narcissism.”
Karl is a good broadcaster and Cass has clearly been an amazingly supportive smart mother and wife.
Why post a provocative image of the cover of feminist novel A Handmaids Tale to social media with the caption “an emotional rollercoaster” when her ex is getting married and knowing too well the media is watching?
Why talk to a woman’s mag the day after her ex gets married?
Why do the newly-revamped Dancing with the Stars? Cassandra is, like it or not, known as Karl’s bitter ex and that is how she will be portrayed.
“What do I need to promote?” She said. “Myself as a mother? My children know how good a mother I am. They know they are the most important thing to me and I am the most important thing to them. They know that and I don’t need to prove it to anyone. And you know what? I think people know this.”
Thorburn also accused Stefanovic of misleading his Today viewers.
“Does the country really believe he wore the same suit every day for a year?” She asked, referring to Her ex wearing the same suit on the breakfast show for a year as an experiment to show how men and women are treated differently.
“Did anyone go and check every tape of every day? No. They just believed it because he said it. And one saying is that if I say it it’s true and that’s what he thinks.”
The scorned ex-wife card can only go on for so long and, again, it is the kids that suffer.
Dignified silence here is the best option.
If Karl truly is the narcissistic bad guy she says he is, let him unravel himself.
