Beau Ryan knows when he has let himself go in a manscaping sense – his wife, Kara, will always tell him.

“She won’t tell to me clipper but she will say my hair is a bit long,” Ryan told Confidential.

“That is when I know. She tries to be nice about it to make me feel better when really I would just prefer it if she just said, ‘can you clipper?’.”

Ryan, 37, is helping Aussie blokes get in touch with their beauty side by fronting an unexpected campaign for VB beer.

The iconic Australian beer brand has launched a male grooming range, two years after releasing a fragrance.

You read that right – VB for Men has partnered with Chemist Warehouse to release products made from freeze-dried beer including exfoliating scrub, body wash, face mask and moisturiser.

A VB bath bomb rounds out the pack with shampoo and conditioner sold separately.

Yes it is very clearly a gimmick but the products are legit and they don’t smell of beer.

Fragrance notes on the products read: “A big, bold journey inspired by the spirit of a sunburnt country. The scent of accomplishment with whispers of a familiar gravelly tone. Bitter citrus notes give way to floral spice and sweet hoppy accents.”

Whatever the takeaway, it brings new meaning to VBs marketing slogan, ‘for a hard earned thirst’.

“It is probably not what you’d expect,” father of two Ryan said. “VB is a blokey beer doing grooming kits and I like it.”

Manscaping and grooming is for all men, Ryan said.

“Truth be told, I actually clipper my body but lately I have been letting it grow,” he said. “I feel like hair is making its way back, especially chest and the snail trail and all that. It is slowly making its way back.”
