What doesn’t kill us, makes us sexy according to lingerie label Honey Birdette.
The Australian brand has just released its new lingerie campaign for Valentine’s Day which was inspired by apocalyptic film Mad Max and shot in Broken Hill.
The brand’s founder Eloise Monaghan told Confidential she didn’t want the collection, called To The Max, to have a traditionally romantic, Valentine’s Day feel to it.
“We didn‘t want to come across like everyone else does with love hearts and teddy bears and chocolates. Screw that,” she said.
“We‘re about empowerment and almost an anti-Valentine’s Day message, so we shot two girls in the desert on motorbikes with stunt doubles.”
The new campaign comes after the label, who has fans in Kylie Jenner, Cardi B and Paris Hilton, celebrated its most successful year ever.
“We‘ve just had our biggest Christmas ever even with some stores shut, and we’re going from strength to strength online,” Monaghan said.
But it hasn’t come without controversy.
The retailer has constantly come under fire from lobby groups for their provocative campaigns.
In October they were reported to the Ad Standards board for a photograph which showed a woman’s “shaved pubis,” however it was dismissed.
