NOVA’S Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald’s prank on his wife as part of a radio segment has brutally backfired, leaving Belinda “Bee Jay” in tears today.
The comedic radio host wanted to test the trust in their relationship after the couple celebrated 10 years of marriage recently.
As part of a prank, he called Bee Jay and asked her to lie to two fake detectives, who knocked on the door of their Sydney family home.

“Listen to me you’re about to get a knock on the door by a policeman. Now honey, listen you need to do me a favour and say to him the night I was in Adelaide for Lane Way festival, Friday Feb. second, babe, you need to tell him I was with you OK?”
“I wasn’t in Adelaide, I was with you and the family here in Sydney.”
Bee Jay sounded shocked and is heard yelling “but why?” before she received the knock at the door by the two actors.
“You’re scaring me! You’re scaring me! No,” she says before she hangs up the phone.
Bee Jay is heard telling the “officers” “I can’t remember” when they asked where Fitzy was on the day.
But when the Nova crew busted into their home to let Bee Jay know it was a prank, she broke down saying “Oh no guys, this is not funny!”
“Well I failed because I didn’t lie for you — there you go,” she added.
Nothing is off limits for Fitzy and his co-host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli.
In an interview with News Corp this week, Fitzy and Wippa revealed they once tried to fake their own deaths in front of their drive show colleagues.
“We were gonna steal an idea from a film ... it was going to be a prank on [Nova drive show] Kate, Tim and Marty,” Wippa said at the time.
