Fboy Island season two gets green light with Abbie Chatfield returning as host
The first series shocked audiences, with women vying for love having to figure out whether men on the show were players, or in it for the long haul. Now FBoy Island and host Abbie Chatfield are back to do it all again.

Australia’s most controversial reality dating show is back.
FBoy Island Australia will return to the small screen on BINGE in 2024 with Abbie Chatfield back as host of the show that sees three women faced with finding a partner.
“FBoy Island is the perfect combination of easy to watch dating show, genuine love stories, it’s high stakes in terms of relationships and monetary prizes but it also isn’t afraid to make fun of itself and its contestants,” Chatfield told The Daily Telegraph.
“I think this show really gave a voice to a lot of people, particularly young women who have been f***ed around by Fboys and in myself or the contestants calling them out they felt vindicated and justified.”
She continued: “FBoy Island Australia flips traditional dating formats on its head and among all of jokes, laughter and questionable behaviour it’s a show that challenges gender dynamics and encourages men to be accountable for their bad behaviour. I also think a reality format that is self-aware … is really appealing to Australian audiences because we don’t take ourselves too seriously and neither did FBoy Island.”
Chatfield, who has the world ‘feminist’ tattooed on her arm, got her start on television as a contestant on The Bachelor before taking off as a host in her own right.
FBoy Island as a format was a huge success in the US before being commissioned by BINGE for Australia, where the first season of 10 episodes was shot in northern NSW earlier this year.
The show sees the women faced with choosing a partner from 24 suitors, half of whom are FBoys, or players, and the other half being genuinely in it for love.
In season one, two of the women, Molly O’Halloran and Ziara Rae, remain in long-term relationships with their chosen partners, Nick Brown and Izaya Leota respectively.
Sophie Blackley chose reformed Fboy Joshy Allen but the pair subsequently decided to stay friends as they lived in different states.
“I think the poor behaviour from Fboys was called out, the nice guys won, we had a reformed Fboy, it had everything I hoped it would,” she said of the first season. “I absolutely loved hosting a reality format. It is obviously where I got my start and to be on the other side was great. I’m really grateful that I got the opportunity to do one season, let alone two and that I was encouraged to be myself while hosting. I learnt so much on set. It was a whole new job and I think my biggest take away was leaning in to my personality and not trying to mimic another host and this show really allowed me to do that so I’m excited for season to be more unconventional.”
Season two casting is currently underway (fboyislandcasting.com.au).
