Erin Molan goes public with new romance at father Jim Molan’s book launch

Popular Sky News Australia host Erin Molan has gone public with her new love interest at her father’s book launch in Canberra.

'That's how tight these budgets are': Inflation significantly affecting families

Erin Molan has debuted her new romance.

The popular Sky News Australia host opted for the book launch of her father, Liberal Senator Jim Molan, to go public with her new love.

Molan has been quietly dating Todd Selby for several months, with the pair holidaying together in Australia and Fiji recently.

She and ex partner, Sean Ogilvy, announced their separation in September. They are parents to and share custody of young daughter, Eliza.

Molan, 39, who co-hosts 2Day FM’s breakfast show with comedians Dave Hughes and Ed Kavalee, has been cautious with the new relationship given the intense scrutiny she and Ogilvy faced when they were together.

Selby looked on with a beaming smile as Molan MC’ed the launch of her dad’s book, Danger On Our Doorstep, at Parliament House in Canberra.

Liberal leader Peter Dutton also spoke.

In May, Molan revealed publicly she was dating someone but has been careful not to divulge Selby’s identity to protect the relationship.

“It’s still early-ish days,” she told her co-hosts at the time.

“It’s really nice actually. I think anyone who’s been in a long-term relationship, when that ends – particularly if you’ve got kids – you kind of go through this stage where you don’t know if you’ll ever meet anyone again.

“But it’s lovely when you meet someone who makes you feel like you’re worthy and like you’re special and like you’re important. It’s a lovely thing and I’m very lucky.”

Molan and Selby met unexpectedly in a car park.

“I was driving into the carpark, he was driving out,” she said.

“That’s the first time we saw each other but we didn’t meet until a couple of months after that. I’m not a believer in fate … but the timing of it was pretty incredible. We locked eyes and I felt something.”

ERIN MOLAN IS GETTING POLITICAL

Sky News Australia host Erin Molan has called on Australian political leaders to take immediate action on the increased cost of living.

With inflation soaring and interest rates rising, the daughter of Liberal Senator Jim Molan has cautioned our leaders to move quickly.

“There are a million worthy causes right now but the number one priority for our leaders on both sides of parliament needs to be cost of living because that is the number one issue that is hitting Australians hard,” Molan told Confidential.

“Other things are important but this has to be the priority and if they don’t address this now, they are failing us.”

Molan will host a celebrity filled event at The Venue in Alexandria to launch the first electric AMG vehicle for Mercedes-Benz Sydney.

She has previously stated she would be interested in exploring a career in politics and believes there will be a time when the majority of cars are electric but said infrastructure is not there to support the move as yet.

“Look at policy over the past 10 or 20 years on energy and there have been multiple police failures, from the Coalition absolutely, from Labor absolutely,” she said.

“No political party is innocent in this space.

“It’d be nice if Australia was leading the world in this area but you also have to be realistic.”
