THE Bachelorette has revived the career of Sophie Monk and now she stands to make big money from her appearance on the reality show, Sydney Confidential can reveal.
The personality has been a huge hit for the franchise and delivered Channel 10 its strongest rating of any in the series, both male and female.
A source told Sydney Confidential that since her appearance of the show, her management and the network have been inundated with commercial opportunities.
David Knox of website TV Tonight said because Monk has been given more airtime, her real personality is shining through and that’s opened her up to a whole new audience of fans.
“Casting a celebrity may get people to tune in, but they only stay if they like what they see, and in Sophie Monk they surely do. She is self-deprecating and doesn’t hold back with her thoughts and is the first Bachelorette to embrace her ‘inner bogan’. She comes across as sincere and that’s fundamental to its success,” he said.
“Presuming the narrative of the show doesn’t derail things, it will open up all sorts of casting opportunities and product endorsements, especially those pitched at young females.”
The good news for Monk comes at a time when racy allegations about some of her would-be suitors are being revealed.
Despite his seemingly nice-guy persona, a former partner of voice-over artist Sam Cochrane, 32, has revealed that the funnyman was a fan of sending naked photos.
