Bachelor in Paradise: Fan favourites and the most polarising return for another shot at love

REVEALED: The first six babes from previous Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons have been announced to return for another shot at love in the spin-off, Bachelor in Paradise. Some you love and some you just love to hate.

THE ratbags of previous seasons will be back to stir more trouble with Channel 10s much-hyped Bachelor In Paradise spin off.

The first six contestants were announced at the network’s programming launch last night.

Original villain of the format Laurina Fleure, who coined the phrase “dirty street pie”, is set to be banished to a tropical island alongside fame-hungry Keira Maguire, who labelled a fellow contestant a “peasant” as they vied for the heart of Richie Strahan on The Bachelor.

Their controversial personalities will be in contrast to much-loved Tara Pavlovic, who won audiences over in her series with Bachelor Matty Johnson.

“I’m always looking for the next adventure. I’m not looking for a man to settle down with as I’ve been having so much fun, but if it happens, it happens,” Pavlovic said.

“I think Paradise is going to be a bit like schoolies week: getting lit with my mates around a pool — why not?”

Guys announced for the series are this year’s Bachelorette contestant, magician Apollo Jackson, as well as prankster Davey Lloyd and former professional footballer Michael Turnbull.

“My heart is still open and I’m going into this open-minded, and hoping to meet someone special,” Jackson said.

“From what I’ve seen of Tara, she seems like so much fun, and I can definitely see the two of us getting on.”

Of his casting, Turnbull said: “The kind of woman I’m looking for hasn’t changed — fun, spontaneous and ready to give anything a go. In relation to girls, Laurine Fleure I would love to get to know her, Tara, to meet her would be nice. Me and Keira wouldn’t form a relationship.”

Meanwhile, Channel 10 programming boss Beverley McGarvey said the network had been swamped with applications from women pitching to be the next Bachelorette following Sophie Monk’s recent stint on the show.

“Whether that person has a profile or not will not be as important to us as to whether we think we can make a series with them where we actually get to see who they are,” McGarvey said. “We are looking at casting at the minute and there is no firm rule. We are not looking for a celebrity.

“As you’d imagine given the success of Sophie’s series, we have had a deluge of people putting their hands up.”
