BACHELOR in Paradise producers won’t have trouble stirring up drama on the island with past-season villains Keira Maguire and Leah Costa cast in the upcoming Network Ten show, a production source has revealed.
Bad blood began to flow between the outspoken contestants when Costa reached out to Maguire over social media, asking for hints on how she had coped with the backlash of being cast as a villain.
But Maguire wasn’t interested in playing reality TV mum. “I said she needs to put her shirt back on,” said Maguire, saying she sent Costa an article referencing the reality star’s topless waitressing.
“I said I wasn’t that interested in calling her.”
Simmering tensions between the TV bad girls are guaranteed to boil over when the two women board a flight this weekend to a ‘mystery’ tropical island where filming for Bachelor in Paradise will take place.
Cast with former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants, the show is a group matchmaking mission, with those who fail to catch anyone’s eye evicted from the island.
Also believed to be joining the island is Maguire’s I’m a Celebrity co-star Laurina Fleure, Michael Turnbull, from Sam Frost’s Bachelorette, and Jake Ellis who placed in top three in Georgia Love’s Bachelorette.
Fleure is believed to have recently split with businessman Nicholas Agnew, making her eligible to flaunt her stuff on the island, while Costa is also newly single after breaking up with former Bachelorette contestant David Witko.
Although fresh from the heartbreak of Alex Nation leaving him for a female footy player, sources believe it is “unlikely” Strahan will be heading to the island.
However, according to a Network Ten spokesperson, no boarding passes have been handed out as yet.
“While the final cast has not yet been confirmed, the response from potential participants has been phenomenal,” the spokesperson said.
“We looking forward to bringing back a whole host of Australia’s favourite Bachelors and Bachelorettes for the most highly anticipated reality series of 2018.”
