AUSTRALIA’S dubbed Bachelor “love rat” Blake Garvey has opened up on whether he will join Channel 10’s spin off, which was confirmed yesterday.

The 34-year-old, who publicly dumped his reality TV fiancee Sam Frost for third runner up Louise Pillidge, told his Facebook followers there was no way he would enter the Bachelor in Paradise mansion.

In a status update, Garvey, who has since dropped out of the media spotlight, wrote: “No way, no how, no chance am I going on Bachelors in Paradise. That is all.”

Garvey announced his split with Pillidge in April last year. The couple were criticised at the time for posing in a “break up” photo shoot in New Idea at the time.

“We sat down recently and Blake said: ‘It’s just not working — I feel like we’re treading water’. I knew deep down that he was right but I would never have been strong enough to say it,” Pillidge told the magazine at the time.

“It feels surreal and since then I have gone through so many emotions. I’ve been crying, numb and angry”.

Rumours have been swirling that runner-up and fan favourite Nikki Gogan is said to be the big ticket item for the series.

Media sources have said that the Western Australian, who was left heart broken when she was dumped by Richie Strahan, flew to Sydney recent weeks to meet with the production team.

When contacted yesterday Gogan would not shut down the speculation.

“I am not going to comment,” she said.

Gogan would be drawn on questions about her interest or who she would like to see on the show.

Other names in the mix are said to include Jake Ellis from series two of The Bachelorette and Jen Hawke from the most recent Bachelor. The pair have admitted to hooking up in the past.

The show’s success would hinge on controversial characters. Sydney’s Keira Maguire would be a major get for the show as would Brisbane’s Michael Turnbull and it is understood both are in talks with producers over joining the cast.
