HOLLYWOOD hunks Matt Damon and Chris Hemsworth have battled alien armies and Chinese monsters, but in Byron Bay the action stars came undone by a jellyfish.
The dynamic duo were enjoying some famous Australian sunshine when Damon got a taste of another feature of our country — creatures that bite.
The pair were with their families, Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky and their three children, plus Damon’s wife Luciana Barroso and their daughters.
Everyone was casually mixing with locals at Byron Bay’s famous beach The Pass when Damon’s youngest daughter was stung by a jellyfish. Paramedics had to be called to treat six-year-old Stella.
And A-lister Damon also rushed into a cafe for ice.
Thankfully, the drama was over quickly and Stella was smiling again soon enough.
The Damons, who are hiding out at the Hemsworths’ Byron Bay hinterland property, have been enjoying helicopter flights, luxury car tours, horse rides on the beach and family time since arriving in Byron on Saturday.
The pair who have been friends for years are enjoying a relaxed break, but there is also speculation Damon, who runs his own motion picture company, could be scouting film locations or looking to collaborate with Hemsworth on an upcoming project.
The Daily Telegraph revealed this week the pair have been hiding out for some bromance time with their kids while their wives socialised together in New York at the premiere the Fate of the Furious film.
Pataky and Barroso then joined them in Australia.
The scenes yesterday came as the first preview of Hemsworth’s new Thor movie, which was filmed in Australia, premiered to rave reviews.
The trailer attracted 1.36 million views in just 24 hours, making it the most viewed Marvel preview across all brands.
This includes Disney’s animation division Pixar and the Star Wars franchise.
“If this trailer doesn’t make you excited, you’re categorically dead inside,” pop culture website Den of Geek said.

Damon last year spoke of his friendship with Hemsworth, where he confessed he was too embarrassed to surf alongside his mate.
“I don’t want to surf with them, just because I’m a horrible surfer,” he told radio at the time.
Hemsworth has previously said he’d learnt a lot from Damon about how to handle himself in Hollywood.
