Actor Hugh Sheridan has ruffled a few feathers in recent days, after promptly taking credit for Rebel Wilson finding love with her girlfriend Ramona Agruma.
The Packed To The Rafters actor has been accused by some within the entertainment industry of occasionally injecting himself into other people’s stories.
Just this week, two hours after his close friend Rebel Wilson announced she had a new girlfriend, Sheridan wasted no time in sharing a happy snap of himself and the new couple, stating that he had set them up.
Wilson is yet to comment on or like the post.
Sheridan, who calls Wilson, Delta Goodrem, Jessica Marais and Agruma his best friend, also phoned in to a local radio station to give them the 101 on how the romance blossomed and how serious the relationship is.
However, it is the use of his social media page when talking about Marais that has really got some people off-side.
In 2020, he took it upon himself to announce that the troubled actor’s mother had died.
Sheridan publicly broke the news on his Instagram page, announcing his support for his co-star with a poem, lengthy post and a series of photographs.
“I know we’ve spoken since and we’re pretty private usually but I really wanted to let everyone know how much I’m grieving for my dearest and sweetest friend who’s now lost both of her parents far too young,” he wrote at the time.
The post was met with hundreds of comments from his followers, however none from Marais, who is still yet to talk about or confirm her mother’s death.
Not much later, days after being rushed to hospital in a “distressed state”, notoriously private Marais made another appearance on Sheridan’s Instagram page, with the actor sharing images of the pair messing around for the camera.
He captioned the image: “Counting my blessings having spent the day with two of my best friends. Two very strong, talented and brave Australian women. First was a step challenge with Rebs (referring to Wilson) and then meditation and a hug with my earth angel Jessie.”
