Will Euron kill a Sand Snake or a dragon in GoT to impress Cersei?

IT’S one of the more intriguing lines from the intriguing first episode of Game Of Thrones — Euron Greyjoy promising to bring Cersei a gift to cement their alliance. So what does he plan?

Fans hated Ed Sheeran's cameo in Game of Thrones

THE first episode of Game Of Thrones’ seventh season left us with plenty of questions but the biggest one, plot-wise, was what will Euron Greyjoy’s next move be?

We also want to know who Arya will kill next — and, more importantly, if she will be wearing Ed Sheeran’s face when she does so.

Oh, please let that be the case!

But, while that is fascinating, Euron is obviously going to be the biggest wrench in the plans of Daenerys and Jon Snow and all the others lined up to get rid of Cersei.

His meeting with Cersei in the first episode was fascinating.

Here’s Euron in season six, looking like a frumpy accountant having a bad holiday at the seaside.

This is Euron now, shaved, dressed up and probably waxed as well.

Last season he was dressed like a plump accountant but somewhere between the Iron Islands and King’s Landing he ran into Captain Jack Sparrow’s tailor and got himself an extreme makeover. Gone was the daggy haircut, the puffy grey jacket and the straining waistline and in came a slick new look, leather trousers, open-necked shirts, rippling muscles and eyeliner.

After Cersei turned down his offer of marriage, he swaggered out, promising to bring her a gift to cement their alliance.

Why he’s got the hots for Cersei when she’s wearing that ridiculous haircut is another question but let’s assume he’s lusting more after the throne than whoever’s sitting on it.

Cersei and Jaime weren’t that excited by Euron’s offer, while nobody is excited by Cersei’s haircut. Did she get The Mountain to cut it for her?

So what is he promising — and why does he look so damn confident he can get it?

Obviously the thing she wants the most is Tyrion’s head but he’ll he safely tucked away on Dragonstone, so that seems unlikely. Likewise Daenerys, while Jon Snow is too far inland and so is Lady Olenna Tyrrell.

Cersei wants Lady Olenna Tyrell dead but she’ll probably send Jaime to do that.

While he’d love to offer up the head of Theon or Yara, that’s more of a gift for him than for Cersei.

So that leaves probably two options.

One of those we canvassed before — that Euron actually has the magical Valyrian horn Dragonbinder on board his preposterous-looking flagship.

In the books, he has Dragonbinder and plans to use it to capture one or more of Dany’s dragons. Whether he succeeds or not is another matter, as George RR Martin hasn’t written that book.

But, in the books, it apparently allows you to take control of one of the giant beasts, with just the minor drawback that it kills whoever blows it.

Could Euron use his magic horn to control one of Dany’s dragons?

Still, if Euron was able to return to King’s Landing with a tame dragon, Cersei would have to be impressed.

While that is an intriguing possibility, it’s probably too early to see a dragon fall. This would enrage Dany to the point where she would come charging down to King’s Landing to rescue her “children” and probably force an endgame scenario at least half a season too early.

So that leaves the other option — returning with the head of one or more Sand Snakes, preferably the head snake’s head — Ellaria Sand.

Killing Ellaria Sand would impress Cersei and Jaime. Plus the fans would love it.

Not only would that please Cersei, it might even win over Jaime as Ellaria killed off their daughter Myrcella back in season five.

It would also delight the fans, who have hated the Dorne subplot since it began.

Given there was vision of Euron’s niece Yara having a lingering snog with Ellaria Sand at some point, it could see them both fall into Euron’s clutches.

It’s minor enough not to trigger a final battle between Cersei and Dany but major enough to impress Cersei.

Plus, it’s hot down in Dorne, so Euron can unbutton his new shirt even more.
