IN news that will worry Game Of Thrones fans, George RR Martin has announced he is stressed and overwhelmed with work and has to give up writing — his blog.

Martin made the post on his blog, titled Not A Blog.

“I am buried in work, so much that it is starting to overwhelm me,” Martin wrote, adding the tag that he was “stressed”.

“So I am going to step back from blogging — okay, from NOT-a-blogging — for a while, till I get a few of these monkeys off my back.

“In the near future, you’ll likely see fewer posts here. And some of those will be by my minions.

“I’ll return eventually. Just don’t know when. See ya later, alligators.”

Martin has been battling to finish book six of his series A Song Of Ice And Fire. The long-awaited book six, Winds Of Winter, was supposed to be released more than two years ago.

The TV series has now passed the book series and will finish long before the book series.

Some fans have speculated that Martin wants the TV series to finish before he releases another book, to avoid comparisons and complaints about changes.

However, the recent news that he has at least four other shows in pre-production, as well as GoT, as well as trying to write book six, has fans worried about further delays.

His post saying he is too stressed to even put up a short blog piece is likely to add to that concern.

Also, he was fond of giving out a few cryptic clues about his progress, which will also obviously stop.

GoT’s final TV series is being filmed now and will hit our screen in early 2019.
