The Walking Dead’s off to play Whack-A-Walker at the funfair

Episode 12 of The Walking Dead promises a little less plot development and a lot more blood splatter as Rick and Michonne head to the funfair and Rosita discovers the Well Walker’s fat, angry sister.

The Walking Dead was long on intrigue and short on zombie kills in the last episode so, to make up for it, this week producers are taking us to the funfair.

All the great games will be there: Whack-a-Walker, Pin The Hatchet On The Walker, Dodgem Walker Cars ... it’s going to be lots of fun.

The trailer for Episode 12 reveals that Rick and Michonne are hitting the road on their hunt for guns to win the Junkyard Gang the weapons that will get them to fight Negan.

It’s time to get Walker smashing this week.

Obviously it’s not going to end that well. We see Rick and Michonne surrounded by hungry Walkers and forced to crank up the Walker whacking.

In shades of the zombie movie Zombieland, they even get stranded on top of a ferris wheel.

After a few weeks of pretty much solid plot action, enlivened only by Rick fighting ‘Winslow” the armoured Walker, it’s time to get back to some full-on blood splatter and this episode promises plenty.

Rick gets to play with some more Walkers this week, not just Winslow.

It also hints at some hot Richonne action ... plus we see them both using pistols. This seems to indicate they find at least some weapons, somewhere.

What does this mean for Tara’s secret about Oceanside? Surely this has to come out soon.

Meanwhile, it looks like Rosita is heading off on her one-woman mission of destruction and she apparently comes across one of the grossest Walkers since the Well-Walker was ripped in half in season two. We’ve been wondering where all the obese zombies are — it looks like Rosita has finally found one.

This is interesting, because we strongly suspect (based on the comics) that one more major character is going to die in the finale of season seven. On the evidence, that is likely to be Sasha, since Sonequa Martin-Green has a new gig on Star Trek.

But Rosita’s actions and her solo mission are raising the possibility that it will be her ...

I guess we will know more on Monday!

Michonne will need her plot armour this episode.
