The Walking Dead’s Carol stops baking and starts killing Walkers

It’s the moment Walking Dead fans have been waiting for. After 12 episodes of avoiding doing any fighting, Carol has put down the cookies and picked up her machete.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 13 preview

AT long last, Carol is going to stop hiding out in a shack and start kicking some serious butt in The Walking Dead episode 13.

Since freaking out over her body count at the end of last season, Carol has stepped down from her role as Official Group Badass and instead sat in a cabin near The Kingdom, reading trashy novels and baking cookies.

Morgan and Carol have been hanging out, rather than killing Walkers. That’s all about to end.
Morgan and Carol have been hanging out, rather than killing Walkers. That’s all about to end.

Not even a visit from Daryl Dixon could get her up and slaughtering baddies like the Carol we know and love.

But the preview for the next episode sees her hit the road and hit some Walkers as she heads off to The Kingdom.

All the old moves are back — the gun over the shoulder, the machete to the head and the ingenious plan for Walker destruction.

Welcome back Carol!

Meanwhile, all is not well in The Kingdom. We know they are not getting on well with the Saviors, although King Ezekiel has been trying to keep things peaceful.

Ezekiel and his knights may be forced to fight the Saviors — finally.
Ezekiel and his knights may be forced to fight the Saviors — finally.

His knight Richard, however, wants to hit the Saviors before they kill anyone from the Kingdom and it looks like things come to a head in this episode.

We have seen the knights and Saviors draw guns on each other before — but this time it is Ezekiel who has a pistol in his hand.

The other question is, will we see some of Oceanside? Or some of Sasha and Rosita’s suicide mision to kill Negan?

With only four more to go, time is running out for war to begin.

The last episode gave us lots of fun as Rick and Michonne slaughtered Walkers at the Fun Fair and also some beautiful character moments. If you weren’t a “Richonne” fan before this episode, you have to be now.

The expression of Michonne’s face when she thought Rick had been pulled down by Walkers was fantastic and that was a brilliant sequence.

But, apart from all that good stuff, we learned that Tara is finally ready to talk about Oceanside and its oceans of guns, while Rosita and Sasha are about to go all Thelma and Louise on us.

It’s setting things up nicely for the war to come and, I suspect, a shocking season finale where at least one major character will die.

Will both go? After Glenn and Abraham (sob, sob!), I’m afraid to say that can’t happen. Sasha and Rosita fans are in for a nervous few weeks ...

The Walking Dead is on Foxtel’s FX channel on Mondays at 1.30pm and 7.30pm.
