The Walking Dead: Negan brings Daryl for a bloody scary visit with Rick

Episode Four of The Walking Dead will be movie-length and packed with drama as Negan comes to Alexandria, with Daryl in tow.

GET ready for a movie-length episode of The Walking Dead on Monday, as the devastating season seven throws away the sub-plots and gets right into Negan vs Rick.

After two episodes where we haven’t seen or heard from our heroes, as we explored Carol and Morgan in The Kingdom and Dwight and Daryl in Negan’s lair, we’re finally going back to Alexandria.

This episode is set to be 90 minutes long, easily as long as a traditional season finale — and we’re only up to episode four.

The trailer reveals Negan comes knocking at Alexandria’s door — and they’re going to be even less pleased to see him than we would be to get a door-to-door salesman during dinner.

No wonder it’s going to be 90 minutes, because there is a lot of ground to cover and we are going to see if the television series is going to seriously divert from the comics.

So get ready, and watch out for spoilers, because here they come!

Daryl comes back to Alexandria, still in his weird prison uniform. Has he broken? How will Negan flaunt him in Rick’s face?

Rick has to give up leadership of Alexandria after leading them into that trap, so how is that going to play?

In the comics, Spencer already thinks Rick is ruining his dead parents’ legacy and offers to help Negan kill Rick. Spencer’s already a weasel, so we could see the ground work for that.

Also in the comics, Maggie leaves Alexandria to head to The Hilltop, where she rises to become its ruler. After Negan killed Glenn, she’s not going to be able to look at him without wanting to try and kill him, so it’s likely she won’t be at Alexandria when he arrives.

Carl also goes all vigilante in the comics, rebelling against his downtrodden father and plotting to kill Negan, even going on a one-teenager rampage. Might that begin?

And then in the promos we saw a furious Michonne with a rifle in her hands. What will that mean? Could another one of our favourites be about to die? Is she trying to save Daryl?

We’ll also be seeing how Rick and the others are coping after the horror of Negan’s murders.

I suspect, not well, and a tortured Daryl won’t help things!

Ultimately, this episode will also show us whether the producers intend to have the second half of the season as All-Out War between Negan, Alexandria, The Hilltop and The Kingdom, or whether they just sow those seeds to finish that stroyline in season eight.
