The Walking Dead: Episode 7 full of blood, sweat and glorious hair
Carl gets to meet Negan, Rick gets into trouble and will Jesus get his hair products back? Looks like a packed The Walking Dead episode ...
AFTER the false hope of an Episode Six preview that promised much but only gave us Tara, a bunch of sand zombies and a psychopathic child, Episode Seven of The Walking Dead holds huge promise.
Finally — FINALLY — things are beginning to happen.
Carl’s quest to kill Negan and Jesus’s quest to get back the hair products Negan took — sorry, that should be Jesus’s quest to find Negan’s true hideout — is looking promising.
The title of the episode, Sing Me A Song, also has a massive hint towards a legendary moment in the comics, when Carl goes on a one-kid mission and is captured.
But instead of meeting Lucille the bat, Negan takes a shine to Carl and agrees to let him go — if he sings a song.
Now, in the comics Carl is just 12 and so much more of a plucky kid. Will the teenage Carl in the TV series be given the same latitude? Will he get back Jesus’s hair products to keep his own flowing locks in tip-top shape?
We also see Rick and Aaron on a supply run. Last week we learned that Heath and Tara had spent two weeks searching for stuff and come up with nothing more interesting than some sand zombies. But hey, I’m sure the boys can do better in far less time.
Anyway, they look to be heading into trouble — literally, the warning sign says there’s nothing but trouble. Is this Oceanside, the community of women and mad children armed to the teeth and hating on everyone? Or yet another place?
We also look set to get more Daryl, Dwight and Negan, which could be anything or could be connected to Carl.
Intriguingly, we also see Rosita and Eugene heading out. Is this the start of a beautiful bullet-making relationship? Oh, let us hope so. It would also be nice for them to hook up and assuage their grief over Abraham. It’s time he lost his mullet — and no, that’s not a euphemism.
Even more intriguingly, we see the weasel Spencer watching them. Will this be the start of his betrayal?
Finally we see Michonne heading out on a solo mission. She’s not happy, which is not good news for any Walkers nearby. But what is she up to?
This episode promises to be a healthy 90 minutes, so let’s hope it packs all of that in — and more!
