Fear of the Walking Dead season 3 trailer

FEAR The Walking Dead has taken a huge turn and everything is up for grabs in the final three episodes.

Beware, this story contains massive spoilers for episode 13 of season three, “This Land Is Your Land”.

If you haven’t caught up yet, then you should stop reading now — and get onto Foxtel to watch this brilliant spin-off to The Walking Dead.

The zombies came calling at the ranch.
The zombies came calling at the ranch.

Episode 12 saw Alicia, Ofelia and most of the ranch trapped in their underground pantry by a horde of zombies that the nutbag Troy Otto had lured there in revenge for being exiled.

Troy and Nick were on the outside and seemingly the only hope for their rescue, given that Madison, Walker and Strand were still on the way back from the dam.

Naturally it wasn’t that easy though, as the air filter into the pantry was blocked, meaning they were all slowly suffocating.

While Crazy Dog and Ofelia went into the air intake to try and clear it, Alicia took control of the remainder, starting off by killing anyone with a zombie bite to try and save the others.

It’s a powerful sequence as Alicia effectively steps into her mother Madison’s shoes — and finds it very uncomfortable.

Still, there is a nice moment when Blake, the dirtbag who helped Troy kill all those people at the start of the season, breaks down before he gets a sharp object to the brain.

She and an older lady called Christine bond as people start to fall unconscious due to lack of air.

Alicia Clark was challenged like never before in this episode.

Meanwhile, Troy and Nick decide to blow the fuel dump to cause a distraction and allow everyone to get out of the underground pantry.

It’s a sensible plan but Nick lets Troy drive. Troy, who hasn’t slept for 48 hours and is completely barmy. So it’s no surprise when he hits a bunch of zombies, then a caravan, forcing them to take cover in the broken helicopter.

Meanwhile, in the pantry, people who have died from carbon dioxide poisoning are reawakening as zombies. A sleepy Alicia kills one and then dozes off underneath its body, as something of a feeding frenzy begins around her.

Ofelia and Crazy Dog clear the blockage, which is (surprise suprise) a zombie. The fresh air revives Alicia in time to drag a comatose Christine into the gun safe and start shooting some of the zombies.

Troy and Nick look like they are toast — only for Madison to arrive and save the day.

She also rescues Alicia, although not in time for her mate Christine.

It’s a big twist. After spending most of the season scrapping for the ranch, it’s all gone.

Madison wants everyone to head for the dam but Alicia wants to go and find the hunting camp Jake told her about, before his untimely death.

She sounds crazy but it’s actually the smartest thing. The dam is going to fall — Blind Freddy can see that. if not angry peasants than a horde of undead will take it out.

Our heroes are off to the dam, where Efrain, Daniel and Lola are trying to rule it fairly. It’s a matter of time before that ends up as a bloodbath as well ...

Still, Madison, Strand and Ofelia are going to take their chances there, while Nick and Troy will keep an eye on Alicia. Like that is going to end well.

So, with three episodes to go, will the dam also fall? What will happen then in season four?

Or will they do what they should have done in the first place and head up north, to the more deserted parts of the USA where the zombies will be thinner on the ground.

Three episodes to go to find out.
