Charlie Webb (Wavell SHS)

Wavell SHS has several Queensland under-15 schoolboys and halfback Webb is another. He is a strong defender but also a crafty halfback who has a well balanced game. He can also take full advantage of a gap in the defensive line.

IT IS NEW FACES TIME IN THE LANGER TROPHY

Hayden Madders (Wavell SHS)

Madders will partner Webb in the halves at both Wavell and in the Queensland under-15s. He is an eyes up five-eight who is light on his feet, a dangerous runner who comes from an touch football background where he has been an Australian representative.

Onyx Poimafiti (Stretton State College)

Strong as an ox, middle forward Poimafiti has already shown in the qualifying rounds that he will be a handful in his age group this season.

Lexin Hill (Stretton State College)

Returning from a long term injury, Hill has worked hard in rehabilitation and the squad expects to see him at his best for this season. He, along with the rest of the squad, will enjoy being coached by Lachlan Timms, the 100 game Queensland Cup veteran.

Amon Tu’aefe (Stretton State College)

Yet another rising talent from the district, Tu’aefe has quick feet. This powerful forward will prove a handful for any opposition this season.

Jonathan Alo (Redcliffe SHS)

Redcliffe SHS’s lower tier rugby league program is now gathering momentum and a part of that will be centre or winger Alo.

He played for the Sunshine Coast last year as a 14-year-old and has backed that up with selection in the Sunshine Coast team again this year. Alo has a powerful running game and is a great defensive centre.

A Western Australia as a 14-year-old at last season’s national championships in Coffs Harbour, centre Arthy has made the move east and is leading the way at training. He has a natural ability to find the try line. Also keep an eye out for winger James Peni.

Cornelius Kelsall (Keebra Park SHS)

The South Coast and Queensland 14-15 years schoolboys fullback is absolutely electric with speed to burn. Highly rated and signed by the Dolphins on a long term deal, Kelsall has the ability to play in the halves.

Harvey Smith (Keebra Park SHS)

Smith is a light footed, agile half who has a high footy IQ and effective kicking game. Captain for the Keebra Park Walters Cup side, he always leads from the front and will fight tooth and nail until the final whistle.

Qubin Anderson (Keebra Park SHS)

Anderson will add nice variety with his ball playing from lock. He will stick to the middle third and is a glue of the team, while having that smart catch and pass element. Anderson is dynamic and has the ability to make line breaks when he isolates defenders.

Tyrel Schwenke (Keebra Park SHS)

Watch for this explosive, hard-running forward who always leads by example with his actions. Schwenke has quick leg speed around the middle of the park and with his great speed for a big man, has the ability to make many post contact metres.

Simone Tauelangi (Keebra Park SHS)

Tauelangi is a versatile, dynamic player who can play anywhere from the centres to middle forward. He’s an aggressive, hard running player who has the ability to break open a game at any time.

Israel Lotaki (Keebra Park SHS)

Lotaki is a super athlete, a game breaking centre who has an uncanny likeness to a young Stephen Crichton. Lotaki has an excellent running game with the ability to offload.

Roy Sio (Mabel Park SHS)

A middle forward, Sio has a big engine and will give his side plenty of forward horsepower. Signed by the Gold Coast, he played Met East 15s this season.

Kordell Parker (Mabel Park SHS)

Another Met East under-15 representative, Parker is a handy half or utility who works hard on his extras.

Viliami Vea (Mabel Park SHS)

Vea gives Mabel Park SHS some explosive football on the edge of the field. He played for Brisbane Tigers in the Connell Cup this season.

Lockyer Wilson (Mabel Park SHS)

Another lock or utility, Wilson fell in Mabel Park SHS’s lap from New Zealand where he attended the infamous Kelston Boys High School.

Innocent Baruani (Ipswich SHS)

Rugby league runs in Baruani blood and young Innocent might be the most exciting yet.

The 189cm beast with great leadership qualities has slick hands, a big engine and Connell Cup experience behind him.

Jaylan Naleba (Ipswich SHS)

The team’s vice-captain, Naleba will play hooker and has just about every attribute you would want if you were a coach or teammate.

His passing game is elite, kicking game booming and running game lethal.

Ira Yeatman (Ipswich SHS)

Ira Yeatman.

Talk about an excitement machine.

This kid has x-factor written all over him. With ball in hand, he makes things happen, while spectators, defenders and teammates spectate in awe, watching for his next move.

With rapid acceleration and footwork, Yeatman is in front of you one second and three paces behind you the next.

Tomu Cook (Ipswich SHS)

Tomu Cook.

The agile left edge centre from Souths Logan’s Connell Cup team gives this side and playmaker Yeatman real strike in the wide channels.

While Cook has a knack for scoring, it is his work rate that is his most impressive attribute, outside of being a willing ball carrier who will get Ipswich out of their danger zone.

Peter Uilavai-Pita (Ipswich SHS)

Peter Uilavai-Pita.
Peter Uilavai-Pita.

Dummy half or No. 13 Uilavai-Pita does not have an off switch.

An energiser bunny, the kid will tackle all day and could listen all day too making him one of the most coachable types coach Shane Harris has ever worked with.
