Jairus Halahala

Halahala was a dynamic middle forward signed by the Dolphins who made up for lost time in the Connell Cup last month after returning from injury. His leg drive and quick legs for a big bloke will chill opponents to the bone.

Nate Berrigan

A utility player best suited to using his speed and quick play the balls from No.13, but who could also play second row or centre in a heartbeat. The son of former Canterbury hooker Barry, the Dolphins’ signed youngster could miss the first month of the season with injury.

Amare Wynyard

Local junior Wynyard is an electric runner with a footy brain that moves as quick as his flashing feet. He plays dummy half. Last night he was named Redcliffe SHS captain.

Logan Hudson

Highly rated by his teammates, the Redcliffe Connell premiership winning five-eight will be the perfect foil between his forwards and edge players. He will benefit greatly from the coaching expertise offered by Redcliffe SHS mentor Scott Murray.

IPSWICH SHS

Tom Parker

A Broncos-signed utility, Parker is probably best suited as a fullback. He is a quick and talented player, a footballer who developed his passing game playing in the No.6 jumper for Souths Logan (under-17s) this season. He was a part of the school’s premiership winning Langer Reserves side last year.

Sam Martin is set for a big campaign.

Xavier Kirk

A livewire utility back, Kirk will cover hooker, wing or fullback. He is someone who is quick off the mark and will fill the void of alumni Tyler Peckham-Harris who, by the way, helped St George win the SG Ball last month.

KEEBRA PARK SHS

David Bryenton

A quick stepping, lightning quick centre or fullback, Bryenton can light up a match with the click of his fingers. He has been signed by the Broncos - and it is little wonder.

He plays centre and shone at last week’s state championships. He made the Queensland schoolboys selected earlier this week.

Mace Andrew

A South Sydney-signed middle forward, Andrew has a big motor, with power and agility to match. He is a high work rate player and one and a half sentences here do not do justice to his efforts.

Hayden Watson

A new face in the Queensland schoolboys side named earlier this week, Watson is a stormed signed dummy half who was so impressive in the under-17 Connell Cup, that he earned promotion into Burleigh Bears’ Meninga Cup grand final side.

A 2023 Queensland schoolboy second rower, Garton was one of the Meninga Cup’s best edge forwards earlier in the season. He is contracted to the Dolphins. He made the Queensland schoolboys selected earlier this week.

Ellyjah Birve

A brilliant little fullback or halve with natural flair, Birve is a real jack-in-the-box.

He has a knack of pulling the right strings. He has that x-factor about him.

Cooper Clarke

Clarke is a Sydney-raised prop now signed by the Storm who wanted to test himself in the high octane Langer Trophy environment. He is a great enhancement to the Caloundra side. He made the Queensland schoolboys selected earlier this week.

Malakye Blow

An aggressive player, Blow had an ability to “put his body where most others will not’’, according to his coach Toby Poole. Poole also said Teina Maoate, a hooker or halfback, was a very good player who would bounce between the two positions.

MABEL PARK SHS

Elijah Keung

A mobile prop, Keung starred at last week’s state championships after being the discovery player of the recent Meninga Cup competition season where he made News Corp’s Team of the Season. Keung made the Queensland schoolboys team selected this week. He made the Queensland schoolboys selected earlier this week.

WAVELL SHS

Jared Horne

The talented, agile Horne was an increasingly impressive No. 13 or edge forward signed by the Broncos. Like a lot of young Wavell players, he will be better for past experiences in the competition. Horne made the Queensland schoolboys team selected this week.

Zac Herdegen

Another fine Meninga Cup campaigner, the Newcastle Knights-signed No. 7 could take his game to another level this season given Wavell’s forwards will be older and smarter than in 2023. Herdegen made the Queensland schoolboys team selected this week.

Wavell SHS captain Maddox Goodwin.

Charlie Dickson

One of the most outstanding players in Redcliffe’s Connell Cup premiership winning side, the recent Queensland schoolboys selection will tie down Wavell’s No.13 position. One of the Dolphins early academy signings, the Moreton Bay Raiders junior is living up to the hype.

Mason Phillips

Signed by Canterbury, Phillips was a wildcard dummy half talent who can light up a match if given quick ruck ball. Given he has maturing forwards around him this season, he could be a real x-factor player.

Kobi Floro

Floro was a towering middle forward who grew in stature the more the Connell Cup competition unfolded earlier in the season.

He tasted Langer last season, but will be so much better this year.

Sunny Kama

Kama is an outside back powerhouse who has been on the lips of schoolboy league observers for the last five years.

Ray Puru

Signed by the Titans, Puru was a brilliant performer not only for his quick feet and pace around the ruck, but someone who backed his passing skills in contact. He can win games on his own.
