It has been a big 2024 on the KommunityTV screens, with our cameras capturing the moment of adulation as national champions were crowned across multiple sports.
From the future of hoops at the Basketball Australia National Junior Championships, to NRL talent in waiting in the schoolboys and everything in between, it has been a big year of success stories.

BASKETBALL
BA Under-20s National Championships
It was a complete wash of navy at the first national titles of the year with Victoria securing the national title across all four divisions. The finals action was highlighted by an unforgettable buzzer beater from SEM Phoenix rookie Aussie Rapp.
BA Under-18s National Championships
A Jessie-May Hall inspired NSW Metro showed a workhorse mentality on their way to a gold medal in the girls, while Victoria’s heavy arsenal proved unstoppable on their way to the boys national title. Western Australia Black Ducks clinched the maiden Junior Wheelchair Championships title in emphatic fashion.
BA Under-16s National Championships
Victoria finished off the clean sweep of the junior boys national titles with Charlie Wilson going off with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the final. On the girls side of the draw Olivia Olechnowicz finished with a tournament average of 26.67 points as Queensland South won the gold medal.
BA Under-14s Club Championships
It was an all-Victorian affair as home club Casey Cavaliers rode the momentum of a hot crowd to the Under-14 club title while Kilsyth took out the girls title.
BA Under-18s Club Championships
The first-ever Under-18 Club Championships headed west as part of the inaugural NBL x Basketball Australia Hoops Fest. Melbourne Tigers girls capped off the perfect year on the courts, going undefeated on their way to the inaugural national title, while a dark horse out of SA shocked the tournament in the race for the boys title.
BA Schools Championships
The year’s national titles wrapped up in fitting fashion as Brisbane State High defied the expectations to take out the girls Championship title, while Berwick College were near perfect in their run to the men’s title.
RUGBY LEAGUE
ASSRL Nationals
Queensland’s brilliant women’s team led by cross-code superstar Shalom Sauaso ensured it wasn’t a NSW bluewash at the ASSRL National Championships. The home state did pick up three of four titles across a big two weeks on the NSW North Coast, with NSW CHS winning both the Under-16 titles while a Jacob Halanghau-inspired NSW Combined Catholic Colleges won a second-straight under-18s title.
NRL Schools League
A big season of schools league came to a head on a huge national finals day at Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium. The hometown heroes Palm Beach Currumbin pulled a national title out of the fire with a memorable final second play, while that girl again - Shalom Sauaso - was in the thick of it as Ipswich ran away with a national title.
NETBALL
National Netball Championships
It was complete domination from the sky blues at the National Netball Championships with Australian junior star Monika ‘Otai leading the way with 172 goals as NSW made an unbeaten run to the Under-19 title. Netball SA took out the Under-17 title in a two-point thriller against Western Australia.
First Nations Championships
With Lily Cubby and Jayden Molo pulling the strings, Queensland proved unbeatable at the inaugural First Nations tournament, knocking off South Australia in a thrilling final to claim the national title.
Australian Netball Championships
NSW Waratahs, led by an MVP performance from Millie Tonkin, beat rivals Capital Darters in the final of a revamped Australian Netball Championships.
FOOTBALL
National Youth Championships
The Football Australia national titles found their way to both sides of the Victoria-NSW border after a thrilling fortnight of action. NSW sky blues clinched both the under-16 boys and girls titles, while Victoria managed to overcome their rivals in the under-15 stakes.
