Police arrest alleged luxury car thieves

POLICE have arrested two 14-year-old boys in suspicion of breaking into a residence and vehicle on Brisbane’s southside, while a man suspected of committing a separate burglary a few days later remains at large.

Upper Mount Gravatt police said they received reports last Friday evening of people breaking into homes and cars in the Eight Mile Plains area about midnight.

The two teenagers were allegedly disturbed by a resident of a Rakumba Cl home mid-burglary as they stole a set of car keys.
They are also suspected of breaking into a vehicle at Googie Cres.

Station Officer-in-Charge, Senior Sergeant Murray Crone, said police were “quickly on the scene” and made two arrests.

A 14-year-old boy from Logan Reserve and a 14-year-old boy from Stafford Heights were both charged with burglary and entering a premises to commit an indictable offence.

They are scheduled to appear at the Brisbane Childrens Court on July 24.

Upper Mount Gravatt police are also trying to identify a man suspected of committing multiple burglaries in Goshawk Cres Rochedale sometime between Sunday and Tuesday in an unrelated string of crimes.

“The offender was captured on CCTV cameras trying windows and doors at about 3am on Tuesday morning,” Snr Sgt Crone said.
