POLICE have made two arrests after a high-speed chase of an allegedly stolen car from Logan to Acacia Ridge, where the male pair unsuccessfully tried to make a run for it after their tyres were shredded.
One was tracked into bushes next to a school by a police dog, while the other was hauled out from underneath a shocked resident’s property.

The chase occurred on Monday evening at about 10pm. Police say a black Kia Sportage, which had been allegedly stolen from Rochedale although registered in Marsden, was tracked by Polair 2 across Logan and Brisbane’s southside.
The car, which was allegedly driven by an 18-year-old Woodridge man with a 23-year-old Acacia Ridge passenger, was successfully stung by officers from Acacia Ridge Police Station on Learoyd Rd travelling eastbound and came to a stop a few hundred metres away at the intersection of Watson Rd and Bellamy St.
The 18-year-old alleged driver ran off in the direction of properties on Benton St where he was monitored by Polair 2 and hauled out from underneath a house by arresting police.
The 24-year-old alleged passenger ran off into bushland next to Watson Road State School where he was tracked by a police dog and arrested.
The alleged driver has been remanded in custody. The alleged passenger has been bailed to reappear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 6. Both have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. The 18-year-old was also charged with driving unlicensed.
This was the third time in two days Brisbane police used stingers and a Polair helicopter to intercept a stolen vehicle.
Earlier on Monday, a 23-year-old Caboolture South man allegedly stole a Ford Wildtrak from a home at Crestwood Ave, Morayfield at about 1.30pm. Later that evening, police stingers on Renmark St Caboolture were successful. He fled the car, only to be tackled by residents who detained him until police arrived.
Then yesterday afternoon, Polair observed a white Landrover Discovery, which had allegedly been stolen from Auchenflower on Monday, travelling through Inala before heading onto the Logan Motorway at Larapinta at about 2.30pm.
Four teens were tracked into the car park of the Toowong Village shopping centre and arrested at Toowong Railway Station after being cornered with the assistance of police dogs.
