Mollie O’Callaghan snared her third gold medal last night as St Peters Western Swim Club success spread out across age national titles in both Australia and New Zealand.
On night three of the Australian Age Championships in Adelaide, O’Callaghan won the 50m freestyle to go with her 15 years 100m freestyle and 200m backstroke wins on night one and two of competition.
St Peters Western teammate Ella Ramsay claimed her second gold of the meet and another teammate Paris Burlock placed third in the girls 14 years 100m freestyle.
Earlier in the meet Ramsay won the 14 years 200m IM in record time.
Ramsay’s school mate at St Peters Lutheran College Springfield, Claveria Johnson-Tiumalu, broke through to win gold in the 13 years 200m backstroke.
Jenna Forrester got her individual campaign underway with a sparkling win in the gruelling 15 years 400m freestyle.
There were also minor medals to Kyle Niesler (silver, 17 years 400m IM) and Joshua Staples (silver, 15 years, 400m freestyle).

Success also came in the under 17 boys 4x200 freestyle relay from Neisler, Max Cho, Bailey Farris and Michael Gould who finished second while the girls under 16 4x200m freestyle team of Mia O’Leary, Amelia Cescotto, Stef McCarthy, Paris Burlock claimed bronze.
But St Peters Western’s success also flowed over the Tasman where, at the New Zealand Age Championship, the club’s athletes shone.
Olympic prospect Michael Pickett was a predictable winner in the 16 years 50m free, scorching to a New Zealand record.

Lea Muellner won two gold during the opening two days, claiming the 15 years 50m breaststroke in a New Zealand record and also the 200m breaststroke yesterday.
Rackley swimmer Tom Neill and Newmarket Racers’ Elizabeth Dekkers big winners on night three
Eva Thomas was also on the podium, yesterday winning gold in the 18 years 800m freestyle, again in a New Zealand record, while she claimed silver in the 17-18 years 200m butterfly on night one.
Tarquin Magner was a bronze medallist in the 15 years 100m backstroke and a silver medal in the 15 years 50m freestyle.
