The wait for the launch of a historic $10 million revamp at a Brisbane leagues club is almost over.
Stage one of the Wynnum Manly Leagues Club redevelopment will be launched on October 1 after construction started back in October last year.
The first part of the major project, which is the venue’s biggest facelift in its 40-year history, will include a new gaming area and an entire new wing.

After a tough past few months, which included the closure of the venue due to COVID-19 as well as reopening under strict distancing restrictions, Wynnum Manly Leagues Club CEO Craig Thomas said it was a huge boost for the club and the bayside.
“It’s fantastic to see it all coming together, it’s starting to look really impressive,” he said.
“The first stage opening up is great news, especially after the doom and gloom over what has happened this year because of COVID, it’s good to see some brightness has come out of it.”
Stage one is only the start for the revamp of the iconic bayside venue, with stage two – a restaurant and cafe to be completed in December and stage three, which includes the new lounge bar, to be finished in March next year.
The completion of the project is also expected to provide an employment boost for the bayside with more than 40 jobs expected to be up for grabs in the coming months.
Mr Thomas also said trading has been steady for the leagues club despite still being under heavy distancing restrictions due to COVID-19.
