But the Thunder, who have struggled defensively in previous games, locked down the Capitals high-powered offence in the second half keeping Brisbane to just 39 points in the second half compared 63 in the first half.
And it was veterans Chris Cedar and Tommy Ammar, along with young big man Atem Bior, who got going on the offensive end to lead the Thunder back.
Cedar looked to have put the visitors over the top with a three-pointer off the backboard to lead by six points with just 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
But the Capitals weren’t done yet as Goldfinch hit a quick three to close the gap to put the home side within one shot of the Thunder.
Then Logan looked to have closed out the game with Brisbane struggling to find an open shot to try and tie the game before youngster Tim Soong threw up a hail mary from behind the arc which hit the backboard and went in to send the game into overtime.
From there, it was all Capitals as Cadee led the way in the extra period to help Brisbane finish with an 11-point victory.
Cadee topscored with 29 points, nine rebounds and five assists while Bairstow was also impressive with 25 points and 14 rebounds.
Cedar finished with 29 points for the Thunder and was supported by Ammar (20 points) and Bior (18 points).
