The Courier Mail’s executive editor for digital, Bryce Johns, said they were proud to bring a stream for so many games at a time when not many spectators can watch at the venue due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“Basketball continues to be one of the most progressive sports in trying to find cost-effective ways to make sure friends and family can watch their children play ball,” he said.

“Our partnership this year goes from under-12s to the Queensland State League.

“They are a dream to deal with and know the most important thing in these COVID times is to make sure those who care can see the games.

“When so many teams from the Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast areas head north, as is happening this year, we’ll go the extra mile with them to make sure no one misses out.”

Every game, between 8am and 6pm, on the main court of the respective venue will be streamed at each tournament.

Basketball Queensland chief operating officer, Joshua Pascoe, said they were extremely grateful for The Courier Mail coming on board with such broad coverage in 2020.

“It gives parents the chance to watch their kids play if they’re unable to travel in these uncertain times or be there in person,” he said.

“Especially when it comes to CSBQ, a bulk of the competition is during work hours so parents can now watch their kids live or when they get home from work when it wasn’t an option for them before.”
