Police continue to appeal for any information after a man was left for dead when he was run over by a ute in a violent robbery on Brisbane’s bayside.

A man who was left for dead after being run over by a ute on Brisbane’s bayside was randomly targeted, according to police.
Detectives from the Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch continue to investigate the violent robbery at Manly West on Sunday morning.
A 45-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being run over by his own Toyota Hilux while attempting to stop a man who stole the car from a driveway on Peregian Cls.
He is still in hospital in a stable condition.

The Hilux was later found abandoned in the nearby Amberjack St in Manly.
“The victim was randomly targeted and the actions of the offender were extremely dangerous and we are very fortunate that the victim’s injuries were not fatal,” detective inspector of the East Crime Group, Steve Hollands, said.
“Detectives from Bayside CIB are continuing investigations into this offence with assistance from the Forensic Crash Unit.
“If any person observed a Toyota Hilux Utility being abandoned in Amberjack St, Manly around 11.30am on Sunday, please contact police.
“I am sure the community would be appalled by this incident and I would appeal to any person who has information regarding the offenders to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.”
