A homeless man charged with assaulting an elderly man who tried to give him shelter has been granted bail as long as her undergoes drug counselling.
Aaron Ian Kennedy applied for bail at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Ms Kennedy has been charged with extortion, stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and serious assault of a person over 60.

The court heard Mr Kennedy had been homeless but had been taken in by an elderly man in Kallangur.
The court heard he allegedly assaulted the man and has been struggling with a drug addiction.
In order to be released on bail he has agreed to have no contact with the elderly man and has agreed to undergo drug counselling.
Mr Kennedy was released on bail and will be back in court next month.
