A massive $37 million townhouse community, which developers believe will lead the rejuvenation of a previously rundown bayside suburb, is starting to come together as residents get a sneak peek into the giant project.
Construction on Arbor Park, a 67-townhouse project from Pellicano on Wynnum Rd at Wynnum West, is in full swing after starting last September with completion scheduled for early next year.
The project is one of two major developments to hit Wynnum West in the last two years with Wynnum Plaza, which sits right next to Arbor Park, set to undergo a redevelopment believed to be worth more than $100 million.
Arbor Park has attracted more than 50 jobs to the area and is also one of the latest projects as part of a residential boom on the bayside.
But Pellicano operations manager, Michael Kent, said Arbor Park set itself apart from other developments in the area.
“It’s a quality, masterplanned townhome development as opposed to a standard unit complex,” he said.
“Careful thought has been put into creating the development to include a variety of townhouse types, each with a unique design, no two are the same.
“This forethought in design offers a broad cross-section of the community the chance to call the area home – from first home buyers to young families.”
Mr Kent said townhouses at Arbor Park had already sold fast with only 25 per cent still available.
“Arbor Park is another drawcard for new residents to the area, who will access the school, businesses and shops at Wynnum Plaza,” he said.
The Wynnum Plaza revamp, which will also include residential towers as well as a brand new cinema complex, is not scheduled to be built until at least 2024.
Councillor for Wynnum Manly Peter Cumming (ALP) said Arbor Park would give the bayside a residential development with a point of difference.
He also said it continued to show the confidence high-profile developers had in the growing area.
