Ground has been broken on a giant $37 million townhouse community development on Brisbane’s bayside which is set to provide a massive boost to the local economy.

Two of Queensland’s most renowned property developers, Pellicano and Arcone, have come together as construction has started this week on the Wynnum West residential project, Arbor Park.

The development, set to inject more than 200 jobs into the Brisbane economy, features 67 townhouses as well as large green space area at the site next to the Wynnum Plaza.

The project also received another boost earlier this year after a development application was made to the Brisbane City Council for a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of the Wynnum Plaza, to include new retail, food and beverage providers, office space and a cinema.

Pellicano operations manager, Michael Kent, said the townhomes were

designed for buyers wanting to embrace a coastal lifestyle as the Wynnum demographic continued to shift to an increased population of young families.

“The homes are designed with seamless integration between indoor and

outdoor living, with community connection in mind,” he said.

“Green space will make up about 25 per cent of the project with children’s

play equipment, shaded picnic tables and expansive pockets of grass focused

around existing mature eucalyptus trees.”

“We’re really looking forward to bringing this project to life and being a

part of the new Wynnum.”

Pellicano is also behind several large developments in Queensland including Brisbane’s $850 million lifestyle development, South City Square, as well as Quest’s first foray into the Gold Coast market in a mixed-used project at Robina.

Arbor Park is scheduled to be complete in December, 2021.
