GET BUNDT
Beautiful baked goods are always in demand in Brisbane’s north, but there are none on the market quite like those from Get Bundt.
Traditional Bundt cake moulds are used to create homemade showstoppers spanning the spectrum from chocoflan to caramel apple.
The Sandgate business launched on January 2 and offers customised cakes for every occasion, able to serve upwards of 20 people.

BEAUTY WITH ELEGANCE
Traditional Indian clothing comes with a twist at Beauty with Elegance, which opened at Taigum on January 1.
The clothing store works hand-in-hand with their manufacturer in India to create modern, customised creations and provide authentic fabric at low prices.
Waiting times vary between two and four weeks and international shipping is available.

MOMO COFFEE BAR
Sandgate Village is home to a new coffee shop offering a “hole-in-the-wall” dining experience to the growing bayside hospitality scene.
The cafe offers i heart brownies, Nakedberry Superfood smoothies and homemade snacks such as macaroni and cheese frittatas with bacon.
The baristas take their coffee seriously, brewing Australian-made Crème Coffee Garage beans with Maleny Dairies milk.

WHITE HORSE RANCH
An exciting new venture has begun to take shape in the old Fritzenburger building in Albany Creek.
The White Horse Ranch Cafe is set to open mid-January with a dog-friendly, licensed cafe, homewares shop and function space.
Owners are local couple Amy Hinschen and Kyle Steel and the business is expected to employ around ten people once opened.

Murrumba Downs father Craig Schild just wanted to teach his sons how some honest hard work could earn them a couple of dollars over the school holiday break.
What began as a humble idea has since grown “like wildfire” into a fully-fledged landscaping business, as the family bands together to beautify yards across the northside.

The creative team behind Artivity in Chartwell St, Aspley, have been painting murals and teaching children the love of art for some time.
It is only recently, however, that they’ve stepped up their offerings with Messy Art Parties, school holiday camps and regular art classes.
Classes include everything from drawing to oil painting and everything in between.

MCDONALD’S STRATHPINE
A new stand-alone McDonald’s has opened on December 21 at Strathpine following a flurry of new investment in the suburb, including the approval of a $75m “landmark” office complex on Learmonth St and the proposed redevelopment of the Strathpine Centre.
The fast food restaurant is at 207-211 Gympie Rd, adjacent to the Strathpine Community Centre, on the site once occupied by Total Eden.
