A sister has bravely spoken about her family's' heartbreak after her brother’s life was taken in an horrific crash.

Kristie Fergestad has been left heartbroken and shattered at the loss of her little brother, Simon.

The 32-year-old was killed after the moped he was a pillion passenger on, was allegedly struck from behind by a dark-coloured vehicle.

Jared Hoggan, 30, and Simon Fergestad, 32, were travelling east on Caboolture River Rd, Morayfield, about 9.10pm on Friday night when they were allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by Kaylin Benjamin Page.

The moped was then knocked into a stationary 4WD that was sitting on Kenneth St, waiting to turn into Caboolture River Rd.

Mr Fergestad died at the scene, while Mr Hoggan passed away in hospital.

Ms Fergestad says she wants Simon remembered as a “loving son and brother”.

The Caboolture South man leaves behind mother Sue, brother Steven and sisters Nicole, Robyn and Kirstie.

He was also an incredible uncle to five nephews and five nieces.

“Steven and Simon were extremely close, they did everything together, they were best mates,” Ms Fergestad said.

“He was always there for his siblings no matter what, but he was the biggest mummy's boy, especially being the youngest of five.

“I remember the day he met my daughter after I had her, he swore to protect her fiercely, and he did, he was always there for her.”

The North Queensland-based woman says she has many fond memories of her brother.

“My favourite memory is us racing our dirt bikes around the yard as kids,” she said.

“Or me tying him up playing cowboys and Indians and me putting honey on him so the ants got him,” she said as she laughed.

“He was the best little brother, uncle and son.”

Ms Fergestad said the hardest thing about the past few days is the thought that someone had allegedly hit her brother “and not even stopped to help”.

“How does someone do that?,” she said.

“(My mum) will never see her baby boy again or hear him tell her I love you mum.

“She didn’t even get to say goodbye.”

The family is hoping to be able to be able to reunite to farewell their brother, however one of Kirstie’s siblings resides in Victoria.

“My eldest sister may not be allowed to attend as she is in Victoria and would have to quarantine to come up, which is really upsetting,” she said.

“We are hoping she gets an exemption, but it’s not looking likely.”

Ms Fergestad has started a fundraising page to try and help her family farewell Simon.

So far 18 donors have contributed $1605.

Sunshine Coast man, Kaylin Benjamin Page, has been refused bail.

The 38-year-old is now facing four charges including two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and left scene without obtaining help.

His case will be heard again on December 6 in the Caboolture Magistrates Court.
