Living Gems reveal the location for its next over-50s retirement resort

Decked out with a swimming pools, golf simulator, cinema, wine room and lawn bowls precinct this proposed retirement village looks more like a 5-star resort.

Caboolture West development

IF approved residents of the proposed 215 home retirement facility north of Brisbane will have plenty to do with multiple pools, a lawn bowls precinct, wine room and golf simulator all included on site.

Well known over-50s retirement facility operator Living Gems lodged the application for the development with Moreton Bay Regional Council earlier this month.

The facility is proposed to built across 12 hectares from 63-67 Twists Rd and 91-101 Creek Rd at Burpengary East.

There will be 215 homes, plus a manager’s unit.

Residents will have no reason to leave the complex with the facility proposed to include a lawn bowls precinct, dog run and bocce area.

The resident’s clubhouse will be decked out with a 25m indoor pool, bowling alley, bowling lounge, sauna, yoga room, gym, cinema, kitchen, barbecue areas, tennis court, wine room, roof top terrace, library, golf simulator, hair salon and a dance hall.

A Summer House will feature an outdoor swimming pool, deck area, barbecue facilities, lounge, shower and parking.

Each home will also have its own alfresco dining area and courtyard.

The site is currently occupied by a few rural residential homes and lots of trees.

Some of the area is zoned as Core Koala Habitat Area but the development has been designed to ensure there is no interference with the koala habitat.

It is not the only facility Living Gems operate in the Moreton Bay Region – they have a very similar resort on Torrens Rd at Caboolture South and at Bongaree.

Sunnymeade Retirement village and nursing home at King St, Caboolture, recently lodged a plan to expand its facility to include 100 new homes.
