The developers behind the new $40 million Burpengary Station Village retail precinct have revealed which businesses will call the new centre home when it opens in a few weeks.
Comiskey Group Director Robert Comiskey said the redeveloped centre would open mid to late March, with the community club to open in June.
The developers, who are also behind the Eatons Hill Hotel and Sandstone Point Hotel, have owned the site at Burpengary for more than 15 years.
“We actually knocked down a shopping centre we built at the site 20 years ago, it is the first time we have knocked down one of our own things,” Mr Comiskey said.
The development was originally due to open in 2020 but COVID-19 caused some delays.
Mr Comiskey said the Seasons IGA – the major tenant at the retail site, was due to open by the end of March. Close to 85 per cent of the retail tenancies have been pre-leased.
He said a Cafe 63, Liquorland, Priceline, Chairman’s Barber Shop, Cignall specialist tobacconist, a medical centre, bakery and dentist were all due to open at the site this year.
“We have had some exciting businesses get in touch about leasing and I look forward to sharing who else will join this brand new community hub,” Mr Comiskey said.

“It is good for the area and something a bit more upscale and nicer than what people were expecting.”
Once open the centre will create between 200 and 300 jobs.
The Burpengary Community Club, which will be run by the Hervey Bay RSL, is currently undergoing a $5 million fit out.
It will be on the lower level of the development.
It will include a bar, restaurant and 150 poker machines.
Mr Comiskey said Hervey Bay RSL were committed to giving back to the community and had already handed out several grants through its Community Benefit Fund.
