Bite Markets at Burpengary, were forced to shutter its shipping container street food market when COVID-19 hit – now three months later it is ready to reopen.
The market, at North Harbour estate, off the Bruce Highway, will be open from 4pm on Friday and Saturday next week but there will of course be strict rules in place for guests and business owners.
Director Tom Burke said it had been a tough three months with many business owners left with no option but to “bide their time”.
Mr Burke said “all the favourites” had survived the crisis and were looking forward to once again cooking up a feast from July 3.

“The suppliers, business owners and everybody has been very understanding of the situation,” Mr Burke said.
While the doors will open at 4pm as usual there will be a number of changes in place.
“We have 4000sq m here and it is all open but we will only have 20 seats in each dining area,” Mr Burke said.
“And we will keep it to about 500 guests at any one time.”
Tables will all be socially distanced and there will be hand sanitising stations around the venue as well.
“Everybody is desperate to get out and we are desperate to see everybody again,” Mr Burke said.
Eat Street Northshore is yet to announce when it plans to reopen.
