A domestic violence victim has spoken out in outrage over a Logan court’s decision to release her violent ex-partner from custody.

The woman, who cannot be named, said “I’m gonna’ end up dead” from the back of the Beenleigh Magistrates courtroom as her former husband was released on parole last month.

The defendant, 46, pleaded guilty to contraventions of a domestic violence order, possession of dangerous drugs, fraud and trespass.

His ex-wife said she was shocked he did not have to serve any time in jail after offending for more than 10 years.

“This is the fourth time we have gone through this with the courts and every time he gets released,” she said.

“When the magistrate said he would be released on parole, the wind was taken out of me. I was so mad.

“I believe what I said from the back of the courtroom, he will kill me.”

She believed the court were too accepting of his statements about having employment ready for him when he gets out and his work history, which she stated were untrue.

“I had to show photos of his attacks as proof but he can lie to the court about employment. His work tickets are all out of date and he said he will be working with our son when he gets out, but it is not true.”

The mother of two said she fears for other women out there who were victims of domestic violence and it was not treated seriously enough.

“I don't think the court appreciated how serious his criminal history was.

“There are women out there who are being killed and I fear for them.”
