A Logan man who allegedly fired a shotgun at four people inside a car has been granted bail under strict conditions by a court.

Daniel Frank Price, 26, was granted bail in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday on four charges of intending to maim, disfigure or disable.

Price, from Logan Village, also faced charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of explosives and unlawful stalking.

Price allegedly fired a shotgun into a car with four people inside, in Tambourine on December 8 last year.

All charges against Price will be contested and defence lawyer Mark Williams questioned the prosecution’s evidence and the strength of their case.

“The case just isn’t fixable,” said Williams.

“There is also an issue of delay.”

The court heard the prosecution was waiting on body cam evidence and there were images of the alleged weapon and ammunition.

Bail was opposed by Senior Constable Coby Jones, who said there was an unacceptable risk of failing to appear and committing further offences.

Senior Constable Jones also raised concerns around a risk of Price interfering with witnesses and being a danger to the community.

Text messages uncovered by Queensland Police allegedly showed Price saying “f--k the police” and “kill all cops”.

Magistrate Michael O’Driscoll said these messages were particularly concerning.

“The allegations are serious and I’m concerned with the nature of the offending,” he said.

After deliberation Mr O’Driscoll granted bail with very strict conditions.

Price must wear an ankle bracelet, report to police three times a week and have no contact with any complainants or witnesses

He must also not leave Queensland and has a strict curfew.

The matters will next be mentioned in May.
