Rents are now cheaper in 62 Queensland suburbs, with new figures revealing tenants could be saving as much as 50 per cent compared to a year ago.
Suburb-by-suburb data from PropTrack shows unit rents in the Greater Brisbane suburb of Springfield took the biggest tumble in the past 12 months — diving nearly 49.7 per cent to just $185 a week.
Tenants could save 35 per cent compared to a year ago by renting a house in the Darling Downs town of Wandoan, while house rents in the affluent suburb of Teneriffe are now nearly 15 per cent cheaper at $850 a week.

A three-bedroom, three-bathroom house at 38 North Street in Wandoan is currently available for rent for $300 a week.
Even parts of the Brisbane local government area have seen some decent rent declines, with units in suburbs like Camp Hill, Tarragindi, Graceville, and Seven Hills all cheaper than they were a year ago.
A one-bedroom unit in the popular suburb of Camp Hill is currently available for rent for $320 a week.
In the state’s north, unit rents in the Mackay towns of Beaconsfield, Collinsville and Dysart fell by more than six per cent over the year.
On the Sunshine Coast, the cost of renting a house in Pomona is more than 14 per cent less than it was 12 months ago at $540 a week.
The quarter-on-quarter PropTrack figures show house rents tumbled even further in the three months to the end of September — falling almost 17 per cent.
In the past three months, the biggest fall in the median weekly rent for a house was in Fortitude Valley, where it fell 25.2 per cent to $550.
For units, regional Queensland recorded the biggest falls, with weekly rents in the Townsville suburb of Oonoonba declining 19 per cent, followed by the Gladstone suburb of Clinton.
Rents remained unchanged in 250 suburbs across the state.
