Lleyton Hewitt moves to Gold Coast, looks like a local

Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt has been spotted unpacking the family car at a Gold Coast rental ahead of a rumoured move to the Glitter Strip’s most photographed mansion.

You can’t blame Lleyton Hewitt. As Melbourne struggles to climb out of its Covid-19 lockdown malaise, southerners are being lured to the Sunshine State.

Tennis legend Hewitt and his family are no different, although the quality of abode may differ from that of the average householder.

The tennis champ was yesterday seen unpacking at a Gold Coast property ahead of a rumoured move to buy a home known as The Palms at Burleigh Heads.

The home, known as the most photographed in Queensland, sold in October.

The Wimbledon and US Open champion was seen absorbing a beautiful Queensland spring
afternoon in a very Gold Coast way.

Shirtless, barefoot, relaxed and casual, he looked as though he’d grown up on the Coast.

He was unloading his car full of toys, linen, a gaming console and a Rive Gauche bag into the home he and his wife, Dancing with the Stars and Home and Away star Bec, are believed to be renting.

The family listed their mansion in Melbourne for sale in October and at the time the rumours were the family of five were headed north.

Their “French-inspired” home in Melbourne is at an asking price of $15 million to $16 million.

Hewitt joins a star-studded line-up of sporting Coast residents, including Sam Stosur, Sally Pearson and Mick Fanning.
