Firefighters have successfully tamed a house fire in Bowen.

Three fire crews were called to a two storey home on Roma Peak Rd around midday.

The first crew arrived at 12:30 and witnessed “thick, black, smoke” pouring out from the building, according to a QFES spokesman.

“The fire had started in the downstairs area,” the spokesman said.

“Everyone was out of the house by the time crews arrived.”

Paramedics at the scene confirmed that no injuries have been sustained.

The fire was extinguished by 2pm.
