Brisbane weather: 100mm of rain forecast for South East Queensland next week
More than 100mm of rain is forecast for parts of South East Queensland over the next week the impacts of La Nina are felt across the state.

Widespread rain is forecast for large parts of Queensland next week with La Nina’s impacts expected to last throughout December.
Rainfall will begin to pick up from Monday, with the majority of the southeast to experience their wettest days on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast consistent showers with 63mm expected in Brisbane across the week, 80mm on the Gold Coast, 102mm on the Sunshine Coast and 71mm in Ipswich.
Temperatures are expected to remain high for the first half of the week, dropping significantly from Wednesday onwards.
Thunderstorms are also forecast to affect the entire southeast from Monday through Wednesday, particularly impacting the Gold Coast on Monday.
The Bureau has previously warned of flooding this Summer, with La Nina rainfall expected to overflow the state’s already saturated catchments and rivers.
It its long term forecast released on Thursday, the Bureau said Queensland would likely see higher than average rain during December due to La Nina conditions combining with warm ocean temperatures and a Positive Southern Annular Mode.
December rainfall totals are currently forecast to reach 100mm for most of the state, with the south east coast about twice as likely to experience unusually wet conditions.
